You have got great names in both lists. Favorite vs Influential to me is not important at all at least to me personally so Favorite wins out in my mind. It’s kind of like your favorite car vs most influential car, does not really matter in my mind. Good list though…

Kansas is legendary. I love that song.
Magnum Opus changes tempo constantly, incorporating rock, pop, progressive, metal, opera, and more, with dozens of instruments. I like to catch a buzz, put on headphones, and lean back…transported!

Nice list!

For favorite bands, it is pretty subjective to list.

But when I think of influential, I think of bands that started or heavily influenced the different genres. Certainly Southern Rock and other genres are missing or less weighted than "favorite" R&R bands on your influential list. Not meant to be a negative comment towards your list, just an observation.

The Beach Boys/ Brian Wilson album Pet Sounds is actually one of the most influential albums of all time. The Beatles heard it and it influenced them to up their game and lead to Sargent Peppers. I have to think the Yardbirds is one of the most influential bands all time. It started the careers three all time great guitarists, Clapton, Beck and Page. Hendrix has to be one of the most influential all time. Since he became known everybody wanted to play like that but never could. Nobody sounds like Jimi.
