That list is confusing. Is Tank, Gallup, and Tyron making more than Dak this year? So is it a just this year thing or a future earnings type thing?

This year. You take a 20m$ dead cap hit AFTER Dak’s contract ends. So you traded now for later, which this is not acknowledging

Credit to Tyron Smith for taking such a long term team friendly deal. I wonder if he regrets it given the team has won a single play off game in 6 years.

Ridiculous what these guys are getting paid. The entire NFL/NBA & MLB are out of control. I feel for the REAL players of these 3 sports from back in the day that didn't get paid a quarter of what today's paychecks are. Nor were they pumped w/steroids etc....

I agree with you but the fact remains. We are the ones ultimately responsible. They don't even exist without our support.

The Top 32 Contracts in the NFL from the club perspective:

The first sentence reads: "With each passing year in the NFL, a player landing on a list of “most team-friendly” contracts will likely play on that contract for less and less time. " So this appears to be a list of the top team friendly contracts.

Still not sure what this means. There are 3 Cowboys and no Giants on this list. The article does a poor job of explaining what measurement is being used to decide who makes the list and who doesn't. Obviously contract value is one component, but the other has to be the players contribution to the team which is subjective. Tyron is a bargain for a left tackle when he is healthy. I guess even if he only plays 14 games he is still a good value, but not if he misses 6 or 8 games.

Honestly, I think Gallup and DLaw have fair contracts. I would not call them team friendly.

Someone gets the money
It’s either the owners or the players
I think the revenue split in the nfl is very fair and maybe the most fair in pro sports
It’s based solely on the revenue and someone gets that revenue
