Mock Draft of sorts? Dream list?

Either way, list your top 5 players you hope to see in a Cowboys uniform by round. Do as many rounds as you wish. Trade up and trade downs or maybe you stay put. Simply does not matter.

ROUND 1

1. Patrick Peterson | DB | LSU
2. Tyron Smith | OT | USC
3. Dareus Marcell | DL | Alabama
4. Cameron Jordan | DE | Cal
5. Gabe Carimi | OT | Wisconsin

ROUND 2

1. Derek Sherrod | OT | Mississippi St
2. Aaron Williams | DB | Texas
3. Rahim Moore | FS | UCLA
4. Bruce Carter | OLB | North Carolina
5. Andy Dalton | QB | TCU

ROUND 3

1. Kenrick Ellis | DL | Hampton
2. Ras-I Dowling | DB | Virginia
3. Quinton Carter | S | Oklahoma
4. Will Rackley | OG | Leigh
5. Marcus Gilchrist | DB | Clemson

Of the guys I could reasonably see available where our picks currently are:

Listed in order of preference, although the order of later rounds could change based on what we do with the previous picks.

1st:

Tyron Smith T USC, Marcel Dareus DL Alabama, JJ Watt DL Wisconsin, Cameron Jordan DL Cal, Robert Quinn OLB N Carolina

2nd:

Cameron Hayward DL Ohio St, Marcus Cannon OL TCU , Stefan Wisniewski C/G Penn St, Danny Watkins G Baylor, Rahim Moore FS UCLA

3rd:

Kendrick Ellis DL Hampton, James Carpenter OL Alabama, Will Rackley OL Lehigh, Jarvis Jenkins DL Clemson, Shareece Wright CB USC

4th:

Kelvin Sheppard ILB LSU, John Moffitt G/C Wisconsin, Clint Boling G Georgia, Deandre McDaniel S Clemson, Akeem Dent ILB Georgia

5th:

Stevan Ridley RB LSU, Cecil Shorts WR Mt Union, Bilal Powell RB Louisville, Cedric Thorton DL Southern Arkansas, Marcus Gilcrist DB Clemson

Round 1

1. Tyron Smith /OT/ USC
2. Mike Pouncy /C/G/ Florida
3. Derek Sherrod /OT/ Mississippi State

My primary goal (in the entire draft) would be to draft Smith at 9. Plan B is to trade back into the late teens and leave with Pouncy and trade back into late round 1 and nab Sherrod (easier said than done).

Round 2

Brandon Harris /CB/ Miami
Stefen Wisniewski /C/G/ Penn State
Danny Watkins /OG/C Baylor
Christian Ballard /DT/ Iowa

Round 3

Will Rackley /OG/ Lehigh
Davon House /CB/ New Mexico State
Edmund Gates /WR/ Abilene Christian
Marcus Gilchrist /CB/S Clemson
Orlando Franklin /OG/ Miami
Shareece Wright /CB/ USC
Rahim Moore /S/ UCLA

Round 4

Curtis Marsh /CB/ Utah State
Jason Pinkston /OG/ Pittsburgh
DeMarcus Love /OG/ Arkansas
Rashad Charmichael /CB/ Virginia Tech
Kelvin Sheppard /ILB/ LSU

Round 5

Denarius Moore /WR/ Tennessee
Kendrick Ellis /DT/ Hampton
Buster Skrine /CB/ Chattanooga
Chimdi Chekwa /CB/ Ohio State

Round 6

Steven Ridley /RB/LSU

Round 7

Henry Hynoski /FB/ Pittsburgh
Tyrod Taylor /QB/ Virginia Tech
Mario Fannin /RB/ Auburn

Just my opinion SoDog, but I think Sherrod and Dowling go one rd. higher than what you have them. Unless there is something you know that I don't.

As an interested and yet uninformed bystander I find it curious that none of your top five in round one or 2 make it into your dream mock of 4/12...

Does that mean this years draft is going to be a mess? or am I reading too much into your mock?

I really like some of the later round names on your list.

The more I look at it, the better I like it for those exact reasons.

Round 1
1. Patrick Peterson CB LSU

Round 7
1. Mark LeGree S Applachian St.
2. Chris Nield NT W. Virginia
3. Jake Kirkpatrick C TCU

This is most realistic scenario I would like to see without trades:

RD 1- Tyrone Smith
RD 2- Brandon Harris
RD 3- Will Rackley
RD 4- Kelvin Sheppard
RD 5- Jeremy Kerley
RD 6- Stephan Ridley
RD 7- Mark LeGree
RD 7- Chris Nield

Positions given as position player would man for the Cowboys.

Round 1
1. Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
2. Marcell Dareus, DE, Alabama
3. Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin (Probably draftable with a bit of a trade back, if possible)
4. Tyron Smith, OT, USC
5. Robert Quinn, OLB, UNC

Round 2
1. Stefen Wisniewski, OG/OC, Penn State (I don't understand why Pouncey is getting more attention. The mediocre and vastly overrated play of his brother?)
2. Derek Sherrod, OT, Miss. St (Maybe a long shot here, but worth trading back up a little for)
3. Christian Ballard, DE, Iowa
4. Brandon Harris, CB, Miami
5. Martez Wilson, ILB/OLB, Illinois

Round 3
1. Kelvin Sheppard, ILB, LSU
2. Edmond Gates, WR, Abilene Christian
3. Will Rackley, OG, Lehigh

5. Quinton Carter, FS, Oklahoma

Round 4
1. Deunta Williams, S, North Carolina
2. Demarcus Love, OG/OT, Arkansas

1. Lawrence Guy, DE, Arizona State
2. Nate Irving, ILB, North Carolina
3. Henry Hynoski, FB, Pittsburgh
4. Kris O'Dowd, C, USC
5. Chris Rucker, CB, Michigan State

Round 6
1. Ugo Chinasa, OLB, Oklahoma State
2. Bilal Powell, HB, Louisville
3. Stevan Ridley, HB, LSU
4. Jake Kirkpatrick, C, TCU
5. Greg McElroy, QB, Alabama

Round 7
1. Korey Lindsey, CB, Southern Illinois
2. Anthony Allen, HB, Georgia Tech
3. Collin Zych, S, Harvard
4. David Carter, DE, UCLA
5. Gabe Miller, OLB, Oregon State
