Good time to take a deep dive into this strong running back class. We can make a strong argument that the Cowboys actually need to revamp the entire positional group and draft 2 backs this yr. Keep in mind it's very early, these rankings are all over the place, this was taken by draftek for discussion purposes and subject to change:

I heard Kiper say that there could be up to 35 draftable backs this yr!

1-Jeanty Boise State-he is putting up Tecmo Bowl stats and even ran for close to 200 yards, 3 TD's against top rated Oregon. Total stud!
2-Hampton North Carolina-big bruiser bell cow type
3-Henderson Ohio State-could of been in conversation for top back taken last yr
4-Judkins Ohio State-has to improve on protecting the football in key situations
5-Johnson Iowa-see Hampton
6-Marks USC-similar back we has seen coming from this school, more of a 3rd down type
7-Gordon II Okla State-similar to Hampton/Johnson but lacks that burst
8-Singleton Penn State-one of my pet cats this yr
9-Sanders South Carolina-he was a prospect many liked last season
10-Sampson Tenn-always get those WOW speed backs from here, he is no different

Honestly....after Jeanty, it comes down to what you're looking coz there's not much separation IMO

Woody Marks has been really good for USC. His acceleration is elite.

Saw a stat last night that he’s caught a ball in 56 straight games.

I’ll see him up close against the Fighting Irish Saturday.

Is he similar to Lloyd from last year's draft?

Kyle Monangai Rutgers

All should be in the conversation of the top 10 as well…this class is loaded

Kind of wonder where Rocket actually goes. Great Soph year. Horrible JR year. Bounced back, but not quite at Soph levels. Could be an interesting day 3 prospect. He is a guy that could very well outplay his draft stock

Another guy that definitely needs to be in the discussion is James Jordan from Oregon. Only a 20 year old
junior, but won’t be shocked to see him declare after an Oregon playoff run and shoot up draft boards

I like him more. He's been the most consistent offensive player for my Trojans.

Coming in to this year, I didn't think I'd have him higher than Lloyd.
How are you liking the Big10 by the way?

And did a little piece of you die with the PAC12 lol?

10 years ago I would have hated the idea of leaving the Pac12.

However, the Pac12 mishandled every aspect of college football the last decade plus. Their focus on Olympic sports and their stubborn take on the Pac12Network not being available for a majority of fans/customers left USC no choice but to move on.

Went to the Michigan game this year. Great atmosphere and fans.

Something is off with Lincoln Riley. He has regressed as a playcaller. Disappointing.

What might be interesting is how many will declare early. A lot probably can make more money in college then a 4th round pick.

Oh yeah, Larry Scott is an all-time dummy. Shot themselves in the foot until they eventually bled out.

I’ve only been to Happy Valley and the atmosphere is truly unreal in those big games. Just wouldn’t recommend in the freezing cold.

He is another undersized explosive type

Here is probably the most underrated back in college football.

Cam Skattebo from Arizona St. (5-10, 220)

This kid is a hardnosed bring your lunch box to work old school player...He's a bowling ball with feet! Looks to punish defenders on every play, has very good contact balance and is hard to bring down on first attempt. Only gets stronger as the game goes on. Reminds me of Mike Alstott. Do some research on him and you might like what you see.

Take him with a late round pick (6th/7th) and pair him with someone like Henderson, Sampson or a RJ Harvey. Maybe even Dowdle if he is retained.
