YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
Congrats my man. For the record, Parsons is a fantastic prospect and getting the third was money. I just hope that Quinn has a good plan for him to get their moneys worth. He’s a rare athlete that can do just about anything you want.

For me Parsons was the best defensive player in the draft. Didn’t think this team had it in them to be bold enough to make the pick with all the money and draft capital tied up in Smith and LVE. Kudos to them for also getting the additional pick.

He's a stud, and getting an extra 3rd was a nice move. Living outside of Harrisburg PA and being a HUGE PSU fan, I have watched him play football for many years. But, TBH, I see him as an OLB for a 3/4 team so I wonder where/how they will play him here? Super happy for the kid though!
I just really hope they have a plan to make him fit our scheme to maximize his abilities. I see a lot of pass rushing in his future, which I'm fine with as it's one of his best traits.
I don't hate the pick and I'm not concerned about any off the field issues as he's matured immensely in the last 3 years, but I'm a little concerned about the fit.

I was disappointed Surtain was gone and not crazy about another first round LB.
but you can’t teach the speed and athletic ability this kid has. So
I’m hopeful he becomes quite a playmaker for us. I still think we need to draft another LB late rounds. I like Paddy, I’m sure you saw him play forever at NW. He is overlooked due to lack of athleticism but he is like Dat or Sean Lee about diagnosing plays and we can use that too. What do you think?

Does this mean Jaylon is a June 1st cut?! I hope not but just rehashing what others have said,
LVE/Jaylon will probably split time at one of the linebacker spots. LVE will have to prove he can stay healthy while Jaylon has to play better. I think they will draft another linebacker/safety hybrid tomorrow and LVE/Jaylon’s days are numbered.

I think Quinn will make it work...also this is a long term solution not just rookie year. This is essentially a guarantee that either Smith or LVE are gone after next season so they better buck up.

Parsons is a big boost to the run D and pass rush.

I have seen Paddy play and you're right, he can see it, but I question whether or not he can make the play in the NFL on a consistent basis. He is worth a late rd flyer though.

You think Quinn puts Micah at MLB or at LEO?

that’s my assessment as well. I remember everyone underestimate Dat for similar reasons but the guy just made tackle after tackle. Nice to have a super cerebral LB will Parsons athleticism but Urlacher/Kuechly/Lewis types don’t come along that often. If he can also play STs coverage he would be a nice late rounder and add depth to the LB corps.

I doubt it will be LEO, but I do think they’ll work on finding ways to get him after the QB because it is one of the things that he does very well.

I can envision Quinn playing him some at the SAM LB spot that can be frequently sent after the QB from the opposite side of the formation from the LEO.

There are a lot of things that Parsons could do really. He certainly could take a few snaps at LEO and he could play any of the LB spots.

One of the most interesting things to me about that pick is how Quinn will use such a chess piece.
