5 sixth and seventh round picks, none of them are going to make an impact

get a package going and get back into the 5th. get the best CB. Coe maybe?

A CB at this point may not make the roster. How many 5th round or lower CBs have made Dallas' roster over the last 10-20 years?

Well Nate Jones and Jacques Reeves immediately come to mind.

Wasn't Larry Brown a 12th round pick (would be FA today ! )

Okay and did any of these guys become stars? Brown maybe you can count as a star but he wasn't a guy that was going to be a great player. He was lucky to be in the right place for 2 INTs in a SB. But I don't think any of these guys will be stars. Any DB we take from this point on is a nickel guy at best and probably a special teams player if they make the roster.

And Mario Edwards was a 6th.

I bet we could come up with 10-15 more if we tried. :laugh2:

And Mario Edwards only started because we had less talent there then we have now.

It's crazy unlikely anybody you draft in the 6th or 7th will be a star. All you want is contributors at this point.

And I think anyone we get in the 6th or 7th at CB(or 5th) is at best a special teams player. CB is something we need to address in free agency maybe. Not in this draft.

Larry was a star when it really counted. If we have any second day picks start by the end of the season and the odds aren't that good then we will have gotten more than most teams with our second day picks.

You're right to an extent, Nick. But remember, he was "known" for the SB picks. What alot of people overlook is that he was also our starter opposite Deion. When Kevin (pup) Smith went down Larry was a very valuable asset to have. A nickel CB or solid back-up would be prudent at this stage of the draft. I'm not sure that Reeves or Jones will ever be more than they are now. We might as well bring in some competition for them.
