Trade Zeke for a fifth, no us giving a fifth for contract!

His cap savings in a post June 1 trade is actually $12.4 million. His $12.4 million base salary is guaranteed for 2022 so in the situation where you would cut him, the Cowboys would have to eat that $12.4 million. But because it's guaranteed base salary, if you were to trade him, that $12.4 million shifts to the team that acquires him because it's still base salary.

No one is trading for Elliott so it's all moot anyway.

Jerry made his bed with this dumb contract now he has to sit on it for another year, at least. I hope to god they don't go stupid and restructure him.

Stephen made that bed.

Not true, McCaffery and Kamara make more or equal to, Zeke contract
The massive difference is the guaranteed salary trigger for the season starting 18 months from then while the upcoming one is already guaranteed.

McCaffrey got a portion of that guarantee for one season, Kamara got it for one and change.

Elliott got FOUR....which is why he is uncuttable.

It's the worst contract I've even seen handed out in the league, and he had two years left on his rookie deal.

But hey, we HAD to get him back from Cabo to save Garrett.

I agree with those that say Jerry doesn't do much anymore, but I think when contracts become problematic and public, Jerry is very much a part of it.

Geez I wonder if they don't just love the publicity because it hasn't been effective as a tactic.

They've lost the last three, and those deals are cap problems one, two and three on this team.

We got him on a 6 year deal, not 4. With an out year in 2023. His contract was front end loaded.

Yeah and the first four years were guaranteed 18 months in advance...at least.

The signing bonus was 7.5 on 90 total. You call that frontloaded? It was essentially 4 for 60 fully guaranteed. There's a final 2/30 that he won't see.

It wasn't at all frontloaded and it didn't matter, because of the guarantee, which was probably to offset the low cash out of pocket....figuring he would produce for four more years easily.

Wrong....and now they can't get out of it.

If Kamara or McCaffrey were dumped right now it wouldn't cost their teams 30 million in cap room.

Gurley was obviously the same way, but I didn't look at that one.

They will be able to get out of it after this season.

Hey a sixth would be fine to, but I expect zero compensation thoughts?
Hes not going anywhere.

And just like every year, come training camp, we r going to hear how Zeke is in the best shape of his life and he looks as quick as he ever has.

because he is taking up a roster spot and producing like a 40year old RB. Rip the bandaid off now. Next year is going to be a disaster. Let Quinn or Payton have more cap room in 23 without being saddled by that player/contract.

So what running back do you think can get yards in obvious delay hand-off up the clogged middle where dak is (LITERALLY!) tripping over centers feet?

Heck if our o-line would run block during a passing play Dak would have 10 seconds to throw.

Pollard didn't run up the middle much....but didn't get any more than zeke more n a time or 2.

Fix the dam o-line and call better plays. Get zeke healthy. Keep Pollard involved, maybe (get this one!) BOTH on the field at the same time!. Stretch the field more. Unclog the middle.

Zeke isn't washed up yet.

Maybe with a better o-line zeke wouldn't have to block Defensive linemen all dang game. You could actually bring Pollard in more often.

Fix the line and call better plays. FACT!
