This week Tua Tagovailoa suffered another concussion and looks to be out for at least a few weeks if not longer. Some ex-players are advising him to shut it down and retire before his concussions result in permanent brain damage.
Before that we heard DeShaun Watson is involved in another lawsuit for sexual assault. We don't know the details of the case yet but the woman's attorney claims to have multiple witnesses and a video showing the incident. This could be be lawyers posturing or it could be real. If real, I have to believe the league will shut Watson down indefinitely.
But there is the real possibility the Dolphins and Browns will be without their starting QBS for some time and may be in the market to pick up a starting or backup QB in the near future.
A market like this is ideal for the Cowboys if they want to unload Trey Lance for at least what they gave up for him - maybe more. Desperate teams might be willing to part with a higher pick for a former 1st round draft pick.
If I were Dallas I would begin a slow process of building up Lance. You know the way they hype up their draft picks before the draft is even over? It's time to start hyping Lance on how much progress he has made and how they expect him to become the backup soon. In fact, I would promote him to be the backup and even put him in garbage time games to hand off and maybe even some designed runs. Audition him for trade bait.
Maybe they can get a nibble from the Phins or Browns. Who knows.
