Travis Hunter wins the Heisman

92 rec. for 1,152 yards, and 14 TDs (plus 1 TD rushing) as a receiver and 11 PDs, 1 FF, and 4 INTs as a CB is pretty insane.

That said, Jeanty’s season was deserving too.

A lot of people here had a lot to say when Travis Hunter decided to commit to Jackson State because he wanted to play for Deion Sanders
Lots of claims about how he was ruining his chance to be get to the NFL let alone be a high draft pick...

How so? In the NFL….It’s pretty much the best QB award.

In college….other positions have a chance at winning it.
College still has the Heisman mostly for QBs, sometimes RBs, and a couple outliers like WR here and there. Since 2000, 20 out of the last 24 seasons has gone to QBs. The last 20 years in NFL, 20 out of 24 have gone to QBs.

There are still a ton of positions left out of both races. Even this year it took a DB actually doing stuff as a WR (again crap teams) to win the Heisman. They are joke awards. O/DPOY awards seem to be far more accurate now.

BSU is a really good team. But they don't play in a major conference and that hurt him. If Jeanty put up those numbers in the Big 10 or SEC, he absolutely wins the Heisman. That said, Hunter is a freak of nature. We have never seen a player with first round talent at DB and WR.
