Reid: Trent Cole will have MRI on ankle
August, 27, 2010 Aug 27 11:48 PM ET
By Matt Mosley
Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid told reporters late Friday that defensive end Trent Cole would have an MRI on his injured ankle Saturday. Cole had his ankle stepped on early in the second quarter and was carted off the field. X-rays were negative.
The Eagles won the game, 20-17, but that's not much consolation for another ragged performance from the offense. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson left the game in the first quarter with a back injury that didn't appear to be serious. I'm watching a replay of the game as we speak and it looks like Jeremy Maclin didn't help out Kevin Kolb too much after Jackson departed.
And the Eagles' offensive line had no answers for their former linebacker Andy Studebaker, who had two sacks in the first half. Another embarrassing performance for left tackle Jason Peters from what I've seen so far. And the Eagles look vulnerable up the middle without starting center Jamaal Jackson.
