Impossible. Several posters have said that coverage skills are overrated and DBs should be judged strictly by INT numbers and sell out constantly for them.

Today's question is how can Diggs have an encore in 2022.

As they answer, consensus is he may have a better season, but the INT's will be less.
He needs to improve his overall man coverage skills. Not get beat as often.

His style which Dan Quinn designed his coverage scheme around, is limited by the quality of the Free Safety.

Diggs took chances as part of the scheme, not as a free lancing player.

If the Free Safety does not meet expectations, then it results in a big play if Diggs doesn't get the INT when he jumps a route.

On many of the big plays allowed, Kazee was in position or very close but just couldn't make the play.

Diggs even showed the awareness to back off when Kazee had an opportunity to make plays on the ball.
- How many times in years past did we see 1 DB prevent another DB from getting an INT because they had a collision?

Diggs top skill is that he 'sees the field'. It similar to 'vision' by a RB.
- He took chances when he knew that he had help.
- The fact the Kazee was often in position shows that Diggs was playing within the scheme.
- If there had been no help defender in position when Diggs jumped a route but didn't get the INT, then the fault would have been on Diggs.

Kazee had decent range and a good understanding of the scheme. He was usually in position.
- The issue is that he is terrible at making the play when the ball arrives. He couldn't out-muscle Cole Beasley for a jump ball.

DB Coach Al Harris has to take charge to making his best player becomes the anchor\catalyst to how the entire secondary works together to become a dominant unit for the Cowboys.
- No 3rd down conversions: via the pass \ long RB runs \ penalties

Diggs is in a class of his own. He has an eye for opposing mistakes & forcing multiple turnovers in a year. If he can do that but also lower his league worst 1,016 yards allowed, that's how teams will continue to fear him.

yep, i could live with several INT less if he focuses more on not getting beat deep. He got too INT conscious and would jump too many routes and get fooled. Needs to play smarter. It's ok to sometimes give up a short 5 yard slant and not a 60 yard bomb. Pick your spots, use your head.

I really dont care what they say about him getting beat. You cant do better than a 11 pick season unless you get more picks.

picks are game changers, drive killers, score makers, momentum killers.
