You know thing that gets overlooked..........history shows that most 2nd-contract players underperform from the standards and most times stats used to get their deals. To be clear, I am not saying ALL ( Mahomes is certainly an exception ) but most. I would struggle to name 10 2nd contract players who deserve every penny of their deal w/o a detailed stat comparison to other players or put another way off the top of my head.

It's no secret players elevate their stats before getting the bag but it's unlikely for them to either duplicate or increase the same stats consistently.

Put another way.........other Mahomes when/who was the last time you said a player deserves his contract? My point is, it's not just the Cowboys, all teams have players not living up to their contracts.

I think you misunderstood my post. I am not using kid gloves, just the opposite in fact, saying most players don't deserve or live up to their 2nd big-time contract except for a few, Mahomes certainly being one. As stated Diggs certainly has done much since leading the league in interceptions a couple of years ago. That year was the straw used to get him his current deal but he hasn't come close to duplicating those stats but it's not just Diggs, many players are underperforming to the standard of their contracts.
