I think players/coaches understand how hard it is to win in the league. They don't see any so-called garbage teams because they know you can lose on any given Sunday or the impact of injuries.

So they really just praised him for the contract and the team win, which is fair. His performance was neither as bad as some want to make it out to be or as good as others want to make it out to be.
