The Good: They can't play this game twice a year.
*Bledsoe and Owens didn't seem to be at each others throats in the 1st half.
*Bledsoe giving it up to score; I admire that.
*Romo can scramble enough to buy time.
*Everybody seemed to play better with Romo in. Maybe it was my imagination.
*TO can be a monster (apparently he's Satan; I didn't know).
*Kornheiser telling Hank Jr to get his hat disinfected after Theismann had it on. I'm starting to like Tony K. Never thought I would.
*Without having to block all the time, Witten seems to be getting back to Pro Bowl form.

The Bad:
*Nothing new, the o-line cannot stop a rush.
*JJones was completely ineffective (30 yards).
*Romo has to calm down; going into that situation was nearly a no-win for him.
*The shotgun, wouldn't that have been better for Romo?
*Theissman wearing Hank Jr's hat.
*Pass rush gave Eli little trouble. Face it, he's getting pretty good.

The Ugly:
*The line.
*I called it last week; Flat, frightened and uninspired play by the Cowboys. I don't get it. Their two biggest games, their two biggest flops.
*The sacks and int's have been discussed ad nauseum; nothing new.
*Piss poor safety play. Bad coverage, bad angles. How long until somebody actually starts coaching this unit?
*Parcells has a full blown QB problem. There's really no perfect solution.
*Three road games against good opponents coming up. Don't be surprised at 3-6 by Thanksgiving.

The Bottom Line:
They play scared and tentative. The stat lines look just about like I predicted, and if Bledsoe returns vs Carolina I could probably copy and paste those predictions next week. This is a .500 team, with a QB controversy, and a coach who admittedly has no idea what he's going to do next. I wish Parcells and the Cowboys the best, but this doesn't look good at all.

While Eli was good, I think the Giants' blitz pickup had a lot more to do with that. They could blitz one linebacker and get the sack, while we could send the house and Eli still had time to find his receivers in one-on-one coverage downfield.

I would say that Julius had an inability to run because the OLine couldn't run or pass block...

didnt he complete like less than half of his passes?

The good

Witten will finally be a TE again instead of an undersized tackle.

After Crayton's braincramp led to a safety, we'll get to see more of Newman returning punts.

Dallas is still 3-3 and not out of the playoffs by any stretch of the imagination.

The Bad

Williams took a lot of bad angles coming up in run support.

Both ILBs had off nights.

The defense can't catch. Winning teams make big plays when they have to.

The Ugly

Dallas was outcoached again. Blitzes never seem to spring a guy free. The OL schemes were either miscalled or terrible.

Exactly my point. That's why I maintain that there is little to look forward to this year. I hope something happens and they turn it around, but it gets old seeing so much inconsistent and tentative play.

We'll probably lose in Carolina, but Washington and Arizona are extremely beatable, even in their house.

best thing you said...they play scared and tentative....and that is because Parcells coachces that way!!!!!!!!!!! Why would you invest all of these draft picks and money on defense...then make them play read and react. How much longer will it be obvious that read and react defensive players will NEVER PLAY FAST ENOUGHT to disrupt GOOD teams. And read and react defensive players are drafted in the 4th round and beyond. We have a TON of top 10 picks on this team...they should be forced to earn their money by FORCING them into situations to make plays. If Watkins is left alone time and time again...where are the CBs that were originally checking the WRs? Are they blitzing? Because they are not helping get the QB to the ground before Plaxico or those WRs from Philly could get 50 yards down the field!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Washington and Arizona are extremely beatable. Washington may have to go to Campbell soon. He adds a bigger, more mobile dimension to their offense.

As far as Arizona goes, who's going to cover Fitzgerald, Johnson and Boldin? The Cowboy defensive scheme let average Philly receivers burn them. How are they going to look against top flight receivers? And I don't know about you, but Leinart looks like a player.
