Deals always get made at the deadline in Jerry's eyes, what deal gets done, who gets the tag, will we even use the tag??

I say we don't, and we let guys test the market!! Please give your thoughts, happy Monday!

I say we don't use the tag, but only because that's the right thing to do IMO. If Thor had your hand held down on the table and said, guess wrong and you get the hammer, what do you guess Jerry would do? I'm guessing he tags Pollard.

If a deal doesn't get done by Tuesday, Dallas will tag Pollard. There is no way they allow themselves to have Zeke as the primary back for Pollard most certainly would be gone to another team if he is allowed to test free agency.

I'd put my money on Pollard getting the tag. I have to imagine Pollard needs to give the Cowboys a pretty nice discount to lock him up long term.

Pollard is coming off an injury so if I am his agent I am offering zero discount as this deal will be the bulk of Pollard's career earnings given his age (26 in April) and short career of an NFL running back.

I've seen where they've talked about a player and still did nothing, but hey we shall see

We're too cheap to pay so let him test and bring back his offer. I think any offer he gets will be less than the tag number

Agreed, I would be shocked if Pollard isnt on the tag for this reason. If he does give the Cowboys a long term discount it almost becomes a red flag in my mind. It probably shouldn't, but it does.

Pollard is a UFA so if he isn't franchise-tagged he and his agent do not have to come back to Dallas with any offers received from other teams. Given KC is down on their bust of a 1st round RB (Edwards) Pollard should see if they are interested....win win for Pollard.

Simply because Pollard should be paid like a top back in the league. If he takes a discount it tells me that he's not confident that he will be 100% after injury and is open to the more secure option. It's possible he just loves it in Dallas, but that doesn't seem to happen very often these days.

No if he really wants to possibly stay in Dallas, if not he takes the highest bidder and says bye lol

So he should be paid about how much, I think saquon is top compared to him but I understand what you're saying. Either way a team that has a lot of space can sign him to a huge deal

They should not use it on any player.
But they will get desperate as usual with their own players. Will overpay a contract on one and use the tag to overpay another.
