Twas the night before Campmas and all through the land
Not a creature was stirring, except Cowboys fans
The helmets were set by the chimney with care
Hoping St. Landry soon would be there

The Cowboys were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of Super Bowls danced in their heads
and Parcells in his office, and Jerrys nightcap
we'd just settled in for a long lazy nap

When out on my rooftop arose such a clatter
I sprang from the "Post" to see what's the matter
Away to the window I flew in a flash
Hoping for Higgs or a Commander to bash

The moon off my windshield and the light by the way
Made it look like the sunshine in the middle of day
When what do my wondering eyes happen to see
A miniature sleigh and some great history.

A Fedora'd ole driver and his bag of starred candy
I knew very quickly, it must be Tom Landry
Much better than Eagles his courses they came
He whistled and shouted and called them by name
"Now Aikman, Now Staubach"
"Now Emmitt and Irvin"
"On Pearson, On Dorsett"
"On Newton and Witten"

As great teams to win must learn how to fly,
and beat up opponents on their way to the sky
So up to my house top my heroes they flew
with the sleigh full of rings, and St Landry too.

And then in a twinkling I heard from their feet,
The scratching and clawing of each little cleat
As I drew in my breath and was looking around
Down the chimney came Landry, staying in bounds!

He was dressed all in silver from his head to his foot
His star wouldnt tarnish not from ashes nor soot
A bundle of titles he had flung on his back
and he looked like a winner as he opened his pack.

His eyes how they twinkled, his face was so merry
I believe he was thinking of Staubachs Hail Mary.
His gait was as stern as I could ever remember
While beating the Giants every year in November.
His fedora sat proudly up on top of his head
I could feel San Diego filling with dread.
He had on his rings that his great teams had earned
For he taught them well and man had they learned.

I felt like a fool, and a really bad host
Should I stand here so awestruck, or raise him a toast
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread

He spoke not a word but went strait to his work
And filled all the helmets then turned with a jerk
He flew up the chimney with his usuall grace
With a smile that stretched clean over his face.

He sprang to his sleigh, to this team gave a shout
"You CAN win it all, of this there's no doubt"
And I heard him exclaim as I wiped at my tear

"HAPPY CAMPMAS TOO ALL AND TO THE COWBOYS A GREAT YEAR."

dargon king, your ears are still in the devoping phase, as you get older your ears will alter and devlop that natural selective hearing when it comes to the woman in your life...its quite amazing actually, you also learn just when to say uhhuh, oh really, hmmmm, yeah ok, and many other short phrases that bail you out when she looks at you and you realize you havent heard a word of the current conversation.

ok that was partially a joke, but im sure the ladies on ths board can verify that at times men are awful listeners.
