Nobody wants to use this as an excuse and the coaches and players won’t but it is a real factor. This will be the cowboys 4th straight road game. It’s going to take a toll at some point. Opinions on this.

If it mattered enough to the team they should have worked harder against Wash and tried to get a better seed.

Otherwise, just deal with it. No one facing a team with a 1st round bye is complaining....

And the Cowboys had two extra days of rest before their first playoff game. I think the Monday night playoff game is dumb too, but the league just had one of the highest rated games in history so nothing is changing there.

Plus last years Wild card round Monday game included the eventual Superbowl champs. So the league is making money on it and it hasnt proved to be a death sentence for teams yet.

When you’re a wildcard team you have to deal with it. Let’s be glad we made the playoffs and won at least one playoff game. After the awful opener we had against Tampa with Dak going down none of us thought the playoffs and a playoff win would even be possible.

Well the Cowboys played 2 short weeks this season and it didn't seem to affect them too much. I think that helps to have that experience.

Former player Gerald McCoy was asked about this and body recovery time is what he mentioned. Plenty of time to prepare a game plan, but guys get beat up in games.

Even if they won the game against Washington they would not have gotten a better seed. Philly won the division. The divisional winners get the top 4 seeds no matter what their record is. Every team knows this going into the season. Playing on Monday is a disadvantage now but it is all about ratings for the NFL and the Cowboys a big draw.

It doesn’t matter. If a team wants to win in the playoffs, there’s always an available excuse to embrace why your team can’t do it. Injuries, on the road, “refs hate us”, grass field….etc, etc.

If this team’s true and focused goal is to win Sunday, it doesn't matter. No excuses. Find a way. IMO, one big reason this team has underachieved for decades is they often seemed to embrace excuses or talk about the refs (like last year) or whatever. No excuses means no excuses. Just win.

Wins games during the season you should have won, then you'd have a bye the first week....

Well, if the Giants can win the SB as the 6th seed, then why not?

Winning your division has its privileges.

But yeah, fourth road game in a row, playing a team coming off more rest than you, in their house: no question those things are advantages for SF. And in a close game, those things can certainly make a difference. C'est la vie.

Yeah, you can argue that winning the number 2 seed doesn't provide you an extra week of rest but can provide an extra day or 2 instead. So its an advantage, but one can say it's an earned advantage.
