I may have a warped mind, but I think thinking up strange things that could happen in the NFL, like having a Super Bowl that's a scoreless tie going into overtime, and then having the final score be 2 to 0 on a game-winning safety.
...
I've thought of another weird thing that could happen. The offense throws a bomb that gets picked off, and the intercepting player starts to run it back, but then (stupidly) laterals it to the other side of the field, intended for another defensive player. However, OOPS!, his lateral gets picked off by an offensive player, who then scores a touchdown. Therefore, it's a play in which both the offense and the defense throw interceptions, and the offense gets a pick 6.
...
Is this even possible? If the defense, after intercepting, throws a lateral that gets picked off, is it even considered an interception? Or is it a fumble? And if the offense does indeed get credit for a pick, and scores, does it go into the books as the offense scoring on a pick 6?
