I wasn't that big on Ireland since he was so gung-ho on Stanback. And when Stanback was complaining about wanting to play QB, I knew that it was a bad pick. The QB to WR or TE conversions can work nicely. But if the QB wants to still play QB, you're screwed. It's too bad because I think Stanback had some real athleticism and talent.
I think Parcells fell too much in love Ireland because he spoke up on Jacob Rogers. That's nice and all that he was right, but it's about consistently being right that matters. And I also get the feeling that like Todd Haley, Ireland lacks the maturity for the big position.
