The problem was identified and should be fixed now, but browsers are bad about caching redirects and not following cache-expiration rules on them so they remain indefinitely.
You should not have to keep wiping the cache, but depending on the browser, operating system and/or device, it's possible that the browser or system cache was not fully cleared.
Not that this is related to your problem but just in case others are having the issue, I did want to mention that the problem was not browser specific but rather device specific so fixing it in one browser would not fix it in all browsers as the cache would have to be cleared/reset in every browser and possibly the OS for some devices such as mobile devices.
