UNC Redshirt Freshman QB Drake Maye

If you haven't heard of or seen Drake Maye yet you will soon. 6'4" 220 very mobile and already in the Heisman conversation as a redshirt freshman. Coming into today's game he has 31 TD's and 3 INT's, a 71.2% completion percentage and has a very strong arm. Dude is a stud.

Obviously won't be draft eligible until 2024 at the earliest but this guy has #1 overall potential.

His father Mark was a highly recruited QB at UNC in the 80s but shoulder injury hurt him although he did set some records at the time. And Drake’s oldest brother is Luke who played basketball for UNC and hit the game winning shot against Kentucky in the 2017 elite 8 and went on to win national championship

Yeah I said in the Bryce Young thread I think.he is the best QB I have seen in the NCAA so far this year. And yes I have heard the scouts love him.

I always think of UNC as one of the best programs all-time when it comes to producing pass-rushers.
Lawrence Taylor, Julius Peppers, Robert Quinn, Greg Ellis, etc, etc

But lately, they've produced a few NFL QBs. Not great ones, but good enough to make it.
Maye looks like he could easily be the best IF he keeps on this trajectory.

Still should have won. Horrendous drop pass on the goal line. Ball was on the money. So far biggest flaw I see in Maye is staring down primary receiver. That can be coached out.

Yeah, UNC sewed up an appearance in the title game already
They looked way off today. Embarrassing loss, but their best WR really shouldve caught that easy TD pass.

Maye did look like a redshirt freshman today.
