Myself and others have long suspected that Broaddus doesn't do nearly the film study and breakdown that other media scouts do.
Oftentimes when asked to provide an opinion on a player he'll simply parrots whatever Dane Bruglar just said ("I think Dane's got him right....").
On today's Draft Show some unintentional comedy ensued.
Starting at the 20:00 mark, Dane is talking about whom he's mocking to the Bengals at pick #5 overall and goes on for a minute outlining all the reasons why he thinks it will be WR Ja'Marr Chase. He was so convinced he stated "after the first two picks...the pick that I feel most confident about at this point is Ja'Marr Chase at no. 5 (to the Bengals)" he then sarcastically quipped "mark it down the pick will be Penei Sewell," as in he's so sure of it he's guaranteed to be wrong.
Broaddus (immediately jumps in): "I don't think Dane's wrong there. Talking to some people within the Cincinnati organization, they really like Penei Sewell alot....guys I've talked to said it's gonna be Sewell."
Bruglar: "I was being facetious...guys I talked to said it was Chase."
Broaddus (sheepishly): ".....yeah"
