This offense is legit. I've researched Marion and his scheme and I absolutely love it.

He's figured out how to run triple option out of Shotgun, so he retains the gun passing options.

He uses duo, inside and wide zone plenty and has built many different plays out of each of those blocking schemes.

Power run, misbalance with a healthy dose of downfield passing. If you haven't watched the Rebels and need something fun to do during this not so fun football year - check out the UNLV offense. It's not just fun and gimicky, it's sound. He mixes in plenty more traditional formations as well but it's all very well schemed.

If you have watched it, what do you think this could look like in the league? I've seen a ton of names thrown around by fans regarding the soon to be vacant Cowboys coaching positions. I for one would be excited if Marion somehow filled our OC position. Slim chance I know.

It's a legit offensive scheme, not sure if it translates to the NFL, however we haven't yet seen it with real high end talent so who knows.

Vegas is going to be a very interesting team going forward, lots of money and excitement around them and the city now.

Not many people realize that last year Las Vegas had the number one ranked high school football team in the country with Bishop Gorman.

You raised the question that has been rolling round my head - It's ability to translate to the NFL is what really got me doing a deep dive. The concepts make it's usabiity plausible I think. Plus the fact that he does use traditional formations a great deal as well. I think the two back looks used excusively would be difficult. I find it interesting because you take a look at what you need at QB, he could be athletic, but doesn't have to be (Marion says this himself), but more than anything he needs to be smart enough to make the right checks and have a strong arm for the downfield passes. You get a couple good backs, which are easier to get without spending high end resources, need at least one deep threat WR as well. All said, I think the pieces might be easier to obtain when relying less on the QB and more on scheme plus HBs. It would be fun to watch with pro athletes like you said - maybe one day.

I'm all the way in the Atlantic Ocean so the UNLV vs San Diego St game started at 11:30 here last night. I enjoy the offense so much I stayed up for the whole game - only slightly regretting it now lol. I think Ricky White III has a real shot to be a valuable #3 WR in the right system, other than that is there NFL level talent on their offense? I don't believe so, maybe the backs are UDFA candidates, but the scheme is just ridiculous. I'm happy for Marion too, his story is inspirational. I believe the Cowboys were the last team to contact him about playing in the league again after the injuries, but he was nursing the 3rd ACL injury at the time.

Great to hear the developments taking place in LV. I wasn't aware myself so that nugget was cool. You think the Raiders being in town has had a huge impact on that or is that not so much a factor?
