RB: Rico has really started to settle in and been fantastic down the stretch. Yes a lot of yards against bad teams but in his defense he’s playing with one of the worst QBs in football and backup OLmen. Extend him short term and draft another mid rounder to give us a boost in talent to the room. Ideally
someone who can stretch the field.

WR: Massive need. We have zero offensive weapons outside of Lamb - have to try and hit on a WR early if we do nothing in FA.

TE: Ferguson will be a FA after next year and Schoon has been average. Not a high priority due to positional value but it’s a loaded class so if there is a good TE available I’d draft one.

OL: Always open to adding depth but I’ve seen enough from our backups to feel good about next year. No OL in round 1.

DT: Hoping we can extend Osa and Mazi continues to develop but still a big need. I’d be open to drafting 2 this year with how strong the class is.

DE: Like WR, we have no one who can consistently create pressure outside of Parsons. Sneaky need.

CB: Lewis is a FA, Bland will be a FA after next year and Diggs just went down with a big injury. Has turned into a big need.

LBr: Kendricks is a FA and DeMo is likely out this year and next. Need to see more Kendrick but big need.

S: Lower value position but would need.

Scary how many big needs we have with the recent injuries. Going to need a really strong draft and big time jumps from our young players next year.

I agree on some and disagree on others:
QB) Highest paid and injury prone apparently, without any notable skins on the wall. No true young developmental QB behind him. Huge Need.
RB) Probably one of the worse RB rooms in the NFL. Rico is avg, and Vaughn a gimmick player, but no work horse back that can block. Huge Need.
TE) You have at least 3 good ones, and seem to be able to find them every year..........not a need at all, unless a new OC comes in with an offense that prioritizes them.
OL) Need to develop and see what you have. Personally I wouldn't think about any OL until 5th or later. Too many draft assets already tied into the line that isn't elite.
WR) Dallas has a legit #1 WR. While you might draft another at some point........realistically your #2-#4 WR aren't getting that many catches either way. Need, but not huge.
DT) Dallas needs to resign Osa (if he will take a well paid not elite contract) and then draft a legit sized 3T and a legit 1T. Huge Need.
DE) Depends on whether you are keeping a failed Zimmer or not. Kneeland, Parsons (if you are making this permanent), SWilliams, Tank -- Need but not huge.
CB) Sign Lewis, Bland and Diggs.........with injuries Need, but not huge.
S) DWilson, Bell, JThomas, etc........only a need if you keep Zimmer and he keeps playing the S as a man cover on elite TE. If you keep Zimmer, you have a huge need for man coverage safeties instead of zone.
LB) Is Parsons a LB or DE? Who is the DC? Will DOver(again) come back (not sure if he will ever be the same)? Kendrick is good but not a legit Mike. Huge Need.....at least for a Mike.

So Huge Needs @ DT, RB, LB-Mike and arguably QB
needs @ DE, WR, CB
maybe needs@ S, OL, if they see the right guy TE.

Basically Dallas needs new coaching (which can utilize the current players), or a new team because they have needs at every position.
The currently players on defense are based up Quinns wants/needs. Either hire Saleh (DC) - out of the same basic tree- or get new players for Zim's D.
The offensive players are MM's. You either need to change HC/OC or you shouldn't have near the offensive needs after 5 years as these are his guys.

I just do not see how you bring back MM and Zim. Too many needs and not enough draft capital to be competitive in todays NFL. So I am guessing that JJ will extend them and get the same results.
I am not saying the players won't play for MM, just that you have too many needs to continue with the same coaching, as the players don't fit the skillset of the coaches needs. You can't fire the GM for getting them into this position, so its either coaches or players that must go -- IF YOU WANT TO WIN -- and it isn't just about the value $$$$$ of the Cowboys.

We need to pressure the Joneses into spending money on free agents. It all starts with the local media attacking the Joneses at the end game Jerry’s press conference at the Link. I want Jane or Archer to risk their Cowboys access. Then force the Joneses to have a real coaching search. Can you imagine if the Cowboys having a new coaching staff with free agents and 3 high draft choices. We would actually be a threat. Take the BPA in the draft.

In an ideal world we attack DT, LBr and WR in FA / trades but the Jones don’t have the marbles to do it so I won’t count on it.

We have no chance next season if we don’t use free agency. If they don’t they should just trade everyone because you will have a similar record as this season with less hope for the future.

Most concerning to me is the needs at premium positions: DE, DT, WR, CB. Typically, each needs to be addressed with premium picks. But we only have one pick per round.

The way this roster has been built, they have no choice but to resign Rico and get a complementary back in rds 3-5. They also have no choice but to roll with our young guys on OL.

Losing that 4th really hurts. That 4th would've been a starter on this team.

Agree 100%. Sign Rico and a mid rounder and let this promising OL continue to develop.

Then use your top 3 picks on premium positions and ideally move back up into the 4th.

I have heard micro facture regarding Diggs and there is an out in his contract. Safety has really fallen off this year, I think it is also an important need.

With so many needs, it's looking like best player available draft over need.

Yup…and JLew is a FA and Bland is a FA next year.

Big, big need.

Rico had played extremely well BUT against the worst rush D's in the league.
THAT needs to be kept in mind.

I want a better RB as our starter; but his performance has taken the pressure off of going high for a RB.

Sure, always open to upgrading when available but I’m not going to go into next season without someone proven.

Sign Rico and draft some fresh legs in the mid-rounds and let’s roll.

Three guys Im circling on right now where we are slotted is Pearce, Nolan and Green. Likely a dead zone for WR as Burden will likely be gone. I would like Starks there too, but dont think he will last either. Pearce might even be wishful thinking.

Not to familiar with the CB's after Johnson, so Im gonna hold off on my comments until I look at them more

I think there is a good change BPA could be on the front 4. If so, I think thats a good bedrock. Gives us an chance to win against the pass up front, which to me is a better bet than trying to win against the pass on the back end

Good names…just give me the best player at a money position that falls and I’m good.

I also think Starks is one of the best players in the class so no hesitation on him considering he gives you nickel CB ability.
