What?

Guess some guy in California was trying to picture the tsunami and was pulled out to sea and died.

Pretty crazy.

Because apparently making coherent posts is beyond the OP's ability, here is what he's referencing:

Strange! One would have thought from the title of the thread what levels I was speaking of.

Coherent because you don't like they way I created the thread? :D

Really? Surprised by your follow up? No....

Im in your head

Even though its 1000x greater than usual, it's still not hazardous at those minute levels. The reason its getting so much attention is because it exhibits the existence of a leak.

Read the link, AP put out a newsflash that officials are saying that there is a high probability of the reactor going to melt down.

I tend to stray away from any US media outlets and stick to Al Jazzera English for more accurate and detailed journalism. Anyways, it seems that the "1000x" reading of radioactive concentration was inside a control room of the plant and the "8x" was from the surrounding areas. This "8x" was due to the release of some radioactive emissions to relieve the pressure, and so authorities expanded the evacuation radius from 3 to 9 km. They either need to figure out how to restore the electrical power or find an alternative method to cool the rising temperatures.

This is how Godzilla got started!

You know, I think you're actually right about that. :lmao2:

I'm going to have to check out Al-Jazeera's site then to get better info that I'm getting now. Fox isn't running jack crap on it, nor is CNN, regarding the nuke plant.

Appreciate it. Bookmarked.

With all the unusual topic searches I've done for my novel, having Al Jazeera as another link probably won't put me any higher on the FBI's watch list.

Gotta love the Patriot Act :laugh2:

Following it here:

http://live.reuters.com/Event/Japan_earthquake2

Top of the reactor building blown off.

Similar thing happened at Chernobyl. Steam pressure built up and blew the top of the building off as most have seen in the photos of Chernobyl.

The reactor that was having the problems is the oldest reactor at the site, and the oldest design as well.

Explosion at the nuclear plant.

Earlier in the day didn't they already detect elevated levels of radiation out side the plant? Which direction do the Northern Pacific trade winds run.

Toyko Fire Department sending a special nuclear rescue team to the area minutes after the explosion.

New update says that they were using hydrogen to cool the reactor as a last ditch effort, and the building blew itself to pieces.

Wind is currently from the north at 16 mph as per WeatherUnderground.com

Another update: the outside of the building itself is a secondary containment boundary.
