Her office has collaborated with the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association to distribute the talking urinal cakes in bars and restaurants, complete with a female voice that says, “Hey, listen up. Yeah, I’m talking to you. Had a few drinks? Maybe a few too many? Do yourself and everyone else a favor. Call a sober friend or a cab. And don’t forget: Wash your hands.”

I'm thinking if drunk driving is a big problem there, they might not want to end the public service announcement with a hygienic comment. It seems to me it would be more effective to end it with, "And don’t forget: Drunk drivers go to jail!"

And they will. It's no joke. 'Tis the number one reason I quit drinking. You can't reason with a drunk. I know. I was one of them 10 years ago.

Last time I had a urinal cake try to talk to me in a bar bathroom, I couldn't understand a word it said. All I could hear was a lot of gurgling. I just shrugged, and flushed. More gurgling.

I don't think they use the Wizmark®, though.

This is overkill, but it'd be cool--and they probably exist already--to just have the cakes change color when you're over the limit to drive.

Pretty sure that urine while drunk is the water from metabolized alcohol, and contains no alcohol.

But I agree, that would be neat.
