You know I was thinking about that exact same thing. I realize that the distance is longer, so it's harder to be in an all out sprint for 200m, but you only have to start once... i.e. the slowest part of the 100m is coming out of the blocks. He gets a running start on the second 100m. I guess that's why he didn't "shatter" the record in the 200m like he did in the 100m. He could probably do better if he could sprint at 100% for 200m.bracey;2895005 said:19.19 200m
That's 2 9.6 100m runs, faster than anyone in the world except him has ever run a single 100m. Bolt is simply amazing, a completely different level than anyone else. He can be as cocky as he wants if he can put up times like that.
Yeah, I knew what you meant. Just wanted to lay my claim to fame that I can beat Usain Bolt in a race. :laugh1:Temo;2895122 said:Heh, I posted this before the race. Should probably change the thread title

For reference, it takes most sprinters 3 days to a week to fully recover from a world-record 100m sprint. To go and run a 200m world record just a few days after... Endurance, speed, and recovery time. Just ridiculous.
