When the Dallas Cowboys selected wide receiver CeeDee Lamb No. 17 overall, the expectations immediately went through the roof because of his dynamic playmaking ability. In his first training camp, not only has he lived up to the hype, but he just may have increased the amount of production fans and evaluators expect from him.
In fact, he’s been so good the staff writers for DallasCowboys.com have ranked him the best wide receiver so far in Cowboys camp.
Apparently, he’s taking the guidance of Amari Cooper to heart as the Cowboys leading receiver the past two seasons has been more than willing to share his tricks of the trade.
“I’m an open book,” Cooper said. “I’m going to give him everything that I have, all the knowledge that I have …and hope that he runs with it.”
Lamb brings a unique skill set to the receiver position because not only is he lethal from the slot but he can also make plays playing on the outside. In 2019, he ranked third in the nation averaging 21.4 yards per catch.
Adding his skills with Cooper and Michael Gallup, who both went over 1,100 yards and set several career highs last season could see the Cowboys passing attack exceed what it did a year ago went it ranked second in the NFL.
