I have a fond memory of advancing to Chief Petty Officer during 1994 WESTPAC cruise onboard the USS Carl Vinson, so it brought lot of memories, mostly good.

I took a Tiger Cruise on the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and one on the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) back in the 80s. Both are awesome ships! The Enterprise is old as dirt. I believe they are going to finally decommission her in 2013. Hopefully they make a museum out of her like they did with the USS Intrepid.
