This particular case has a problem in my view. (Though I'm sure it's not exclusive to this case). If you kill someone, you should be punished, regardless of whatever disingenuous confession you may have or intend to be made. Who the hell gives a murderer the right to bargain for his punishment?

Jimenez said the intention of the new strategy is to give a "sincere confession," which under Peruvian law can qualify him for a more lenient sentence. If van der Sloot goes forward with this approach, he could be sentenced as early as next week.

IMO death is a lenient sentence. :cool:

Especially if a South American prison is the alternative.

Then honestly that's what he should get. Don't put him up for a season and feed him, just execute him and leave the space for less brutal criminals.

This guy is a piece of garbage.

He should be killed just for what he did to Natalie Holloway.

This world needs to be cleansed of people like him.
