I was in Vegas the last few days and decided to place a small bet on the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl. I was expecting to get around 15-1 on my money and was shocked that the odds makers have Dallas at 8-1. Anyone else surprised by this or just me?

They didnt have the Super Bowl odds posted but you can go to the sports booking and get the odds and place a wager. I figured I would place a bet before they had a great draft and the odds went down, but Im not sure they will go any lower than 8-1.

I just bet $100, that is all I can afford.

On-line I saw them at 13-1, and was planning to post a bet on that myself.

Does anyone know for sure whether or not online betting is illegal in the state of Texas? Is it one of those things where it is technically illegal but they don't really enforce it, the sportsbook in question is in Canada. I tried to research it online but never could get a definitave answer.

You were almost right. They were something like 18 or 20 to 1. But after they signed TO, the odds jumped to like 10 - 1 or less like the 8-1 you got.

I bet $100 on them in Feb of 92...15-1 then too.

Made the bet the year before in Lake Tahoe, collected the following year in Lake Tahoe (It was an annual ski trip after my divorce).

After I collected the $1500.00 from my win, Charles Haley joined my Blackjack table (He was a friend of this guys wife I was playing Blackjack with, just had met them).

Introduced myself, told him the story and thanked him. Nice guy played a few hands with us.
