The ink isn’t dry on this loss, but I am ready to give my non-emotional thoughts and here they are:

1. The 9ers and Cowboys were pretty evenly matched, including the trenches. That’s encouraging.

2. Pollard’s injury hurt. It also probably hurt his pocket book. Pollard is a guy you want to re-sign but whatever I was willing to give him before the injury, CUT IT IN HALF.

3. Zeke’s best days are clearly behind him. Move on from him after this season. I don’t think I would even re-sign him unless it’s almost a veteran minimum type of deal.

4. We need another playmaker of offense. Gotta draft a RB with speed for sure.

5. Defense played really well against the run. The officiating was Ok for most of the game but in the second half the ref bias showed. Lots of missed blocks in the back calls at point of attack and holds by the 9er OL. There is a reason why the Cowboys defense suddenly gave up yards against the run.

6. This won’t be popular but I would trade Diggs. He has made way too many “business decisions”. When he gets paid he is going to mail it in.

7. I would PAY Quinn to keep him around. May not be able to keep him but you have to try.

8. And the elephant in the room—-our $40m per year QB laid another egg today. I would look to move on from Dak. Someone will look at his potential and give you a king’s ransom for him. But Dak just got clearly outplayed by a rookie QB. Dak SHOULD have had at least one more pick. That’s unacceptable and it’s routine.

Moore and McCarthy should have let Davis get a few carries in the 2nd half. I though that was the biggest coaching blunder of the game.

I doubt a lot of this will be popular but Dallas has some talent. You could get a fast turnaround on this team if you are smart. if you could trade Diggs and Dak for a boatload of picks, I think you clearly do it.

And yeah, Quinn as Head Coach. Moore and McCarthy out. Dallas was prepared on defense but not on offense and lots of dumb stuff.

Jerry can’t pull off those kind of moves though. He has no ability to look ahead and likes his guys. He’ll roll out the same coaches and players next year and expect a different result.

He has a no trade clause. Not only did they overpay they met every demand he threw at them.

No one is paying any ransom for Dak.

I support this message. The Cowboys will ride with Dak for the immediate future though, but should consider drafting a potential replacement.

Before this year started I had the boys finishing roughly 500 and missing the playoffs so they exceeded my expectations but....

My beliefs that we will never win it all with Dak were confirmed. The guy is dumb and regressing. One good game over the last 5 weeks and leading the league in interceptions ssys that much.

We have to find a young QB and start developing but we won't because that's not how Jerry rolls. 26 years and counting.
