David Buehler looks and sounds confident

We are going to be worried about David Buehler until we see him hit a few FG's in the preseason games, but he does seem like he's confident heading into training camp...

I do like hearing him say that he was welcoming in Chris Boniol as his coach because he knew he needed the help to be able to become a better kicker.

Buehler is a confident kid and I think kicking is half mental and half physical. Rooting for him to come against the Bengals in the Hall of Fame game and nail a few short ones and then bang one in from 50+. That should get him going on a good role.

DC, are you trying to cure acid reflux in Cowboys fans?

This is good news man. You know we can't handle good news around here. Everyone gets all overconfident and our overconfidence ruins the team.

How does overconfidence on CZ translate to the team?
I have no idea. I personally have never understood that concept.

Hey you know you need to tap on the breaks. :lmao2:

I'm just looking forward to seeing Buehler this pre-season to see if he can do the job.

Tap on them? We need to stomp that bad boy through the floorboard.

I am just waiting on the five reasons why Buehler will not succeed.

1. He's never done it at this level.
2. He's too used to just booming every kick.
3. Just not talented enough.
4. Doesn't have a kickers mentality.
5. He's a kicker - you can never trust a kicker!

:laugh2:

Well, #5 is damned gospel. I am pissed because you should have made that #1.

And now, you're regularly scheduled corny Buehler joke.

In the dictionary, "confident" is defined as "See Buehler."

You get no arguments from me. I hate stinking kickers.

This guy is unique as a kicker. Outside of Reggie Roby I never heard of any kicker who liked to mix it up and make tackles.

Confidence is an absolute must for a kicker.

Awesome post. THANKS! I'm rooting for this guy. What can't the Buehler do? This guy is in the air we breathe.

At about the 9:12 mark in the video, Buehler has the ball chocked up on that device to simulate a holder when an o-lineman (63?) walks by and kicks the setup and knocks it down.

Buehler kind of gives him a look as he is walking away. What monumental restraint he shows in not blind-siding the offender.

:D
