Vikings could force Harvin out for season

10:53 AM ET 08.14 | The Vikings received a roster exemption from the NFL on Thursday for Percy Harvin, with the designation of "left the squad." As part of the process to be granted that exemption, the Vikings had to send Harvin a "five-day letter," meaning that if he hasn't rejoined the team in five calendar days, it can place him on the reserve/left the squad list. That would mean the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year would be ineligible to play this season. The Vikings certainly have no intention of having Harvin miss the season -- they are not required to use the reserve/left squad designation after five days -- but they do want him back.

He's having severe migraine headaches. Hopefully it isn't something too serious.

Maybe they think they can scare him into coming back by saying they could force him out for the year?

I can't imagine they'd do that until they absolutely have to in order to use the spot for someone else.

This isn't a new story. He faced that medical condition for a long time.

Wondering if there is permanent damage. For the Vikings to do this means there is more to the story...

Their season is taking quite a turn for the worse. Any word on the Star Caps debacle?

Migraines come and go sometimes you cam figure out your trigger sometimes it is random.

What do you mean my permanent damage ?

I suffered from Migraines since the age of about 12-13 it just a headache that makes curl up into a little ball in a cold dark place.

I think he's saying that there is a chance that Harvin's may be caused by brain damage that happened during football or some other brain issue. He could just have chronic migraines like you do but because Harvin plays a very violent sport where hits to the head are common something like this has to be taken seriously.

migraines are the worst.... if u don't take medicine as soon as u start feeling it, u have to ride it our. Once it gets to a certain point medicine does nothing for me. All i am able to do is lay down and throw up several times. I have a high tolerance for pain but not for migraines

I feel really bad for the guy. I've had two migraines in my life that were really bad, and they were pretty awful.

I remember my first one I was probably 12 years old and didn't even know what a migraine was. I got one during the last class and after the bell rung I went to the nurse for some help since I had no idea what was happening.

She told me that school was out and the nruses office was closed then left. Didn't even offer to call my parents, help me get home, give me so much as a tylenol, etc.

So there I was, 12 years old thinking my head is going to explode just sitting against the wall of the office for several hours on my own.

I wish I remembered her name so I could send her a thank you letter.
