This may sound odd but I always liked Jack Palance in Shane. I saw it when I was a kid and his voice and demeanor was just so creepy that it has always stuck with me.

Humphrey Bogart as "Duke Mantee" in "The Petrified Forest" was another one I always liked.

PS, I never saw Anthony Hopkins AKA Hannibal Lecter, as a villain but as one of the heroes. Weird huh?
