Va Tech still has a chance to help Boise State. They can still win their conference and get a BCS bowl.

They are all complaining about it here. If VT doesn't win the ACC, then I agree BSU should not be playing for the national championship game in January. They should have blown VT out instead of needing a last minute comeback to win. With only Oregon State left on their schedule as any meaningful opponent, then they will get a BCS game again, just not the big one. They need Oregon State to win by 40, and they need to hang about 95 on Wyoming then blow out Oregon State by 50 to overcome the VT debacle. Somehow I do not see that happening...lol

I always love it when Tech loses, for a number of reasons:

1) When I was much younger, I was a big UVa fan, particularly their basketball team... you can't root for UVa and not hate VaTech...

2) The Vick brothers are poster boys for the fact that Tech recruits anybody who can play, and as a result they've had more than their fair share of socipaths down in Blacksburg...

3) Having once lived in Harrisonburg (I now live 20 minutes north of there), I've always kind of followed the Dukes' football program... they might be a contender to win the FBS national championship again this year...

4) 12 years ago, I worked at another hotel, and had a real jerk of a GM... she and her husband were both Tech grads, and devoted fans, so every time they lose, I think of her and smile...

JMU winning the game in Blacksburg made it even sweeter, though it would be fair to say that it was more a case of Tech losing the game than the Dukes winning it...

Speaking of UVa, they gave USC all it could handle on the Trojans' home field tonight, losing 17-14... the Cavs actually outgained the Trojans, by a little...

Had Tech been able to hold on to beat Boise, oh how the Broncos would have fallen.

They won't win the ACC though.

I haven't liked VT since '85 when then Memphis St. got screwed and lost their #1 ranking.....in basketball obviously

Same here, especially those Sampson years (ooops, may have aged myself there).

I am a JMU graduate, so this win was even sweeter. I don't get the VA Tech hype. They always fail to live up to expectations. And don't get me started on their fans, especially those who never went to the school.

What a great way to start the weekend...too bad it couldn't have ended that way.

20 mins north of Harrisonburg? Cool. I am a JMU grad. 1993. The football program has grown and they have expanded the stadium The Dukes had good talent in both basketball and football when I was there in the early 90s. I am glad they have built on that.
