Visa to offer person-to-person payments

No time to explain, but Paypal screwed me out of $700 because a buyer on Ebay (wrongfully) claimed fraud and I lost both the product and the money, with no recourse to fight his claim.

This was about 4 years ago, and I have not used Paypal since.

Grown adults actually subscribe to this crazy nonsense?

So we are supposed to believe that Paypal is allowed to continue on w/ its doors flung open for millions in the world to use, but is secretly freezing accounts and seizing everyones money in the process.

That is GENIUS.

That's all I have to do?

You can't write this stuff.

It doesn't secretly do this stuff. They put it in their agreements that you can't ever sue them. You can only do arbitration with an arbiter of their choosing.

The problem is, Paypal is the standard and everyone uses them. Why? Because for some time they were the only one to do person to person transactions. That was because Ebay used them. (also why Ebay bought them) People had no choice but to agree to their rules or they couldn't use Paypal which was one of the only ways to do some types of transactions.

Didn't really matter anyhow, most people didn't read the fine print anyhow. You would think the government would protect US citizens and force Paypal to chance it.

Same crap with me, but the person charged $500 for freaking Farmville of all things. I sent PayPal a complaint and got my money refunded. Zynga supposedly had massive security issues at the time and people were exploiting their service to get into PayPal somehow.

You can pay for Farmville? I've never played it, but I thought it was a free to play game.

I've never had an issue with paypal. I use it often and I can send money to someone as a gift with no fees.

There may have been a story or something I missed with it but so far, it's all been good for me.

Basically. But don't stop the internet rage train that is nyc! Paypal and Apple are the debil. Long live Linux!!!1

A good deal of the zynga games you can pay for.

To play it itself is free. However you can buy cards for people to buy items in farmville...a way to upgrade some things or finish some tasks quicker.

I have seen quite a few cards for various Zynga games.

Same for me and I buy all kinds of stuff online. Never had 1 issue.

I still buy things with paypal. I just don't like using them as a seller.

I sort of agree with this. I still use it to buy things, but generally I prefer not to use it for anything. At times it's a necessary evil.

I love paypal.

There have been 4-5 times I bought things on Ebay and either the item wasn't received or the item was damaged and I couldn't get an email back from the seller and after a week or so I got all my money back.

I use it to sell things on Ebay as well and once I get money in there, i just transfer it to my bank account, haven't had any trouble with paypal whatsoever.

Long live papyal :)

I always transfer incoming monies to my personal bank account. I never let more than 100.00 or so sit in my PayPal account, ever.

Why would you?

It would be better if you did the research. No personal experiance of the danger does not mean the danger does not exist.

(Paypal, not the Apple thing :) )
