Longtime Dallas Cowboys radio announcer Brad Sham is absent from the call for the Dallas Cowboys Thursday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks due to an illness.

Kyle Youmans replaced Sham on the call for Thursday night’s game for the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network.

Sham said he was touched by fans’ concerns over his health.

Fell ill on my way to the game. Feel okay but getting a couple things checked out. Really appreciate everyone’s concern,” said Sham

Sham has been with the Dallas Cowboys since 1976, he was hired along with Verne Lundquist. Sham was an 11-time winner of The National Sports Media Association’s Texas Sportscaster of the Year and is a member of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame.

Apparently this was only the second game Sham had missed since hired in 1976 missing a game in 1983 with Vikings with food poisoning.

Brad is the last connection to the Landry era. He begun as color commentator with Local WFAA sports anchor Verne Lunquist who joined CBS in 1983.

Brad took over the play by play position and has held it ever since . Dale Hansen who took over sports anchor at WFAA begun doing the color and held throughout the 90’s until he called out our owner for how he handled the Jimmy situation. Dale recently retired from WFAA after 30+ years as most popular and heard sports voice in DFW area.

We turned down the TV down for decades and listened to broadcast. Until satellite TV ran 5 seconds behind live broadcast.

But when attending games we still brought our old transistor radios with earplugs listening to his broadcast.

Brad is the last remaining link to our beloved former era.

So, like, did Kyle get stabbed in the eye at some point in life?
