I sincerely despise going there. I only go when I'm forced in to it. But.. when Walmart introduced their little carousel bagging system, where they throw your items in the bags and spin it around, was anyone bothered by this?

Whatever happened to them putting your bags into your cart? I've always thought it to be the job of the store to do this. I've heard that if you just wait, they'll do it for you, but they never give you that impression. They just put your stuff in the bags and spin it around.

I mean it's not that big of a deal but it's kind of annoying how such a large corporation, already cuts costs by running a 24 hr Walmart here, with 2 registers open and a long line at each, at around 11 PM. In addition, can't even pay people to do some bagging or think they'll save some manpower by forcing that obligation onto the customers. Self checkout is fine, but you more or less get the choice to use those. I hate how you're forced to look like a lazy ***** to make them do something any self respecting company who bags items should do. It also comes across as rude to me, to do it.

And before anyone says it, I'm not some stuck up snob who thinks I'm too good to put my own groceries in my cart. It's just one of those irritating things, that I was going to put in to my "Things that irritate you" thread, but couldn't because it got locked.

Can't say I've ever felt like this or thought about this.

Interesting the little things that annoy people.

Well I've personally worked in the customer service industry and so I guess my senses are more in tune to these kind of things.

I never get enough at Walmart that I have to go through the regular line. I always do self check-out so I expect to throw my three to five items in the bag anyway.

There are only two places in my area that put your bagged items in to your basket for you Kroger and Schnucks. Schnucks is being bought out by Kroger.

Is Walmart where you buy your tupperware? :muttley:

I can't stand Walmart. Mostly it's the people there. I swear half of them don't take baths and nothing makes more want to get more violent with someone than to see the way some of them treat their children. The people I walk passed when entering that are a the return desk. The people at the return desk, It's unreal what they think they can do. :bang2:

I avoid that place like the plague. I don't think I've been in that place more than once a year over the past five to six years.

I'm with zrinkill. If I need to go to a large discount store like Walmart. Target is a MUCH better (and cleaner) alternative.

Nope. It's Walmart. I set my expectations accordingly before I walk in.

I think it is ironic that someone basically complains about a store that is too lazy to put the bags in the cart because they themselves are too lazy to want to put the bags in the cart.

Of all the things to complain about with wal-mart and this is the one chosen.

Geez this country has gotten too lazy.

People go to walmart, and walmart thrives, because of cheap products. Don't go into a cheap store and expect top notch products and service...seems like common sense to me.

If it bugs someone that much...do like a few above have said and just go somewhere else.

As WoodysGirl says *SMH*

Responding to the bolded. This isn't at all about laziness on their or my part. I'm not sure how I can make it any easier to understand. The whole thing that makes it so irritating is that it is their job to put the stuff in your cart. This isn't some luxury service we're talking about here, it's a common thing in a lot of stores.

The whole carousel they've put in basically says "We're not doing it any more, we're not paying our cashiers to do it any more, or bag boys" even though they're trained to put them in your carts, they assume the customer will do it. And putting customers in a spot to feel uncomfortable to either wait for the cashiers to do it, or request it, makes them look lazy. So they probably realize that most people wouldn't ask and just go about it on their own. That's the whole part that is irritating. You think if I can take the time to sit on CZ and explain something so fundamental to someone I can't throw 10 bags in to a cart?

You also must of missed out on the parts where I said I only go if I'm forced to. The GF loves to shop there, I don't.

Haven't had this problem.

Then again, I only buy an item or two when it is absolutely needed......usually about 1:00AM.

Sounds like you're doing a lot of shopping there.

Nah, this thread must of hit a personal soft spot of yours. Did someone turn away your yellow smiley sticker and have you on edge? Another benefit to working at Walmart for your entertainment over DirecTV is that it's far easier to wipe the rain off of the carts than learn to operate a remote.
