simple - i want a new cell phone..i know nothing about phones..whats the best phone on the market now or whats the best phone that is about to come out..

Preferably the best phone for surfing the web..i use the internet on my phone A LOT..big screen would be cool

oh, any carrier..im willing to change if necessary

I have a HTC HD-7 running Windows 7.5 mobile and love it. I also surf the net alot and it's large screen is great for You Tube and Netflix. But I'm going to buy an Android tablet in the next couple of weeks so my next phone will probably be Android also.

Android and iPhone by far your best choices.

Pick a carrier and then go see which phone fits you best.

If you want the absolute top of the line phone out, the Android Nexus Prime is probably it. Though I think it doesn't actually come out for a couple of more days. (Oct 11th I think)

I think it is a Verizon phone.

Go to some stores and look at some different phones and see which one you like best.

All smart phones today will surf the net so that should be something that will be easy to find.

Therefore if the size of the viewing screen is the next thing that is important to you, maybe you should look at the HTC or Samsung Galaxy phones.

1) iPhone
2) iPhone
3) iPhone
4) Droid
5) Windows

;)

There are actually a lot of good phones out there so the choice isn't easy...

Take your time as it is likely a two year commitment...

I have an iPhone 4 right now. I'm pretty upset over the 4S..I was looking forward to the iPhone 5..is the nexus prime going to be better than the iPhone 4?

Also, and this is probably going to sound stupid to most of you - but I have a sneaky suspicion that whoever this new guy is that is running apple is going to screw things up. I kind of rather jump ship before I find out the hard way. Just a hunch.

Do you think maybe he should use the i-phone as a barometer for comparison?

Your hunch is probably right. I was talking to a coworker jus last night and said the same thing. Apple as we knew it is done. What ever comes next will be lacking.

Is the Nexus Prime going to be better than the iPhone4 and 4s?

Hells to the yeah. Just give yourself another 2 weeks and wait for the Prime's launch.

THEN decide.

Man I can't wait for this phone....

BGR has also confirmed that the OS will be a pure Google device, meaning no fancy third-party UI or other modifications to ICS. Furthermore, they believe that the Galaxy Nexus will be a Verizon Wireless exclusive.

An unveiling couldn’t come at a better time in light of Apple’s lackluster iPhone 4S announcement a couple of days ago. Many consumers and even AT&T employees were anticipating a revolutionary iPhone 5 device, not the evolutionary handset that Cupertino unveiled instead.

When compared with the Galaxy Nexus specs, the 4S already looks a bit dated, at least in terms of sheer processing power and display. But if the Nexus is only launching on one US carrier, this could potentially hurt overall sales.

Insiders say that Apple is waiting on the 4G LTE network to be fully in place before releasing the iPhone 5...

I can understand their thinking. That being said, the 4S is a completely different phone than the 4 and will likely do quite well in sales...

I'm hoping Apple built in expandability for the 4S to be 4G... likely did...

For the time being I am sticking with my 3GS which is a VERY good phone...

It isn't a 4G phone nor will it be upgradeable from the carrier side.
