I've never seen either. Though I forgot Whoopi was in The Color Purple. (Guess you had to have seen the movie heh) I just remember Glover and Oprah being in it.

My parents drug me to see Color Purple when I was 8. Great movie and powerful. Spielburg was the king of the 80s.

Rushmore is great. I love Wes Anderson films. You seen Bottle Rocket, Royal Tenenbaums, or The Darjeeling Limited?

Same here. I've seen The Color Purple 50 jazzillion times, and I still can cry in certain scenes.

Color Purple is an all-time classic. I think I know just about every line of that movie. It's sad the first time you watch it, but the more you see it, the more hilarious and less sad it becomes.

Pretty much must see movies for different reasons....so you can check them off the list. The Color Purple especially.
Good choices. Better late than never.
