This is a video from 3 years ago. Sullivan does a good job of explaining the main difference between the two systems. He even talks about MM's version of WCO (Gulf coast).
Sullivan thinks the WCO is easier for the QB to read the progression but harder for the WRs and with Air Coryell, it's harder for the QB and easier for the WRs.

....thus the name Air Coryell Jr. I gave that name to our former OC.

He said the WCO is more focused on repetition (in practice) of the plays/routes.

I thought that was missing with the Cowboys in recent years.

WCO is definitely more suited to Prescott's skillset.

Running Air Coryell or any offense that focuses much more on long developing plays, with a QB like Prescott, is like putting demi glace on your fish entree instead of tartar sauce. WCO is the tartar sauce and Prescott is the fish. You don't have a steak at QB, so why smother your fish with demi-glace (Air Coryell) when you could have perfectly good tartar sauce?

“Short pass attack, ball control offense, to replace the run game”

People that think we are going to be more run heavy, are in for a rude awakening

Seahawks' offense under Brian Schottenheimer.

2018 2nd in rush attempt, 1st in rush yards.
2019 3rd in rush attempt and 4th in rushing yards.
2020 17rd in rush attempt and 12th in rushing yards.

I don't know what happened in 2020 but his first two years in Seattle, he clearly had a run heavy offense.

The Problem is Dak is not a great short passer, see the Wash game 4 weeks ago. His short out patterns are inaccurate (maybe the worst of all-time) and he doesn't throw a good screen pass.

If we go pass heavy with short passes vs balanced with PA off the run, I'd be very surprised because that would make one of the worst offenses in the league.

Please tell me how the WC is suited to Dak’s play style? The type of routes we run (long developing stare down, break down in coverage throws as he extended plays), he was throwing in college. It’s like watching him in Moore’s offense, except he was a much bigger runner in college against bad teams, which don’t work in a faster and stronger NFL.

That’s in large part because Russell Wilson was running the ball. Dak in his younger years was running in the mid 50 attempts per game, 2018 he broke 70 once. Wilson did mid-70s and above regularly,

Well it’s too late to be surprised. That’s already been established. That’s what the WCO is. No two ways about it. And yes, you are 100% correct. Dak is not an accurate short passer. We have to hope an entire offseason of practice in the offense will improve his game.

Wilson's rush attempt per game during those years aren't that much more than Dak's past 3 years. He wasn't like Hurts or Lamar who typically runs over 10 times a game.

Wilson's rush attempts per game during those years.

2018 4.6
2019 4.7
2020 5.2

Dak's rush attempts per game last 3 years.

2020 3.6
2021 3.0
2022 3.8

Go for it. I want to know myself what you posted is true or not. Especially when he called plays without a HOF QBs.

Isn’t it option routes that make the WCO difficult for receivers? And doesn’t McCarthy hate option routes?

hamburger mike couldn't even use his clock management right how is he gonna help with his play calling he doesn't have Rogers there to pull the trigger all we haqve is a 4th round choke artist and besides his ball handling and throwing well just say is good and that's about it

They both have option routes, but the Air Coryell option routes tend to be more complex. I've read in some versions of Air Coryell, the receiver can have as many as 6 options based on the post snap coverage the defense is in. That's just crazy and probably leads to many INTS caused by QB and WR not seeing the coverage the same way.
