I really enjoy roster construction journeys for the different clubs, and how it ends up in success or failure. The more extreme the success or failure, the more interesting the story. Most teams do not get as much press coverage as this team, no matter how extreme the success or failure.

The Cowboys can make fairly small moves and the press coverage equals that which Arizona would get with a conference championship game appearance. Which is a blessing/curse. Do next to nothing to make major changes-get rewarded massively financially. Keep the band together and run it back again becomes a major strategy (even though it continually fails to yield a conference championship game appearance at the very least). I understand Jones wants to avoid a major rebuild because he’s hoping to score one more SB before his incoming dirt nap-I also understand that without their popularity, that strategy would not yield the financial rewards that this team generates.

This is the cycle of this team. Good enough to beat many teams, but not a true contender. My biggest fear as a fan was getting stuck in this cycle, and it has come to pass again. Relevance begets entertainment begets revenue. No real motivation to do more, as every major impact employee drowns in the profits.

Jerry has literally said, even bad press is good, because it puts cowboys in the headline and then cha ching. that's all he cares about. the amount of press we have recieved this week from this loss, has kept the cowboys in the headlines. and Jerry will milk it, and he knows there will be some wins coming and he can then go cha ching.

They are like an old 8 track tape. It just loops through over and over. Then the tape is eaten and you pull it out and the tape is ruined, all crinkled up.
So instead of throwing it away, they try to straighten it out and and still use it.
Sometimes you just need to rip the bandaid off and put up with the pain of it for a short time.
