We gave up on the run, and weren't even down that bad!

Everything MM is saying at this point has to be a lie. We let rush pass the ball 50+ times?? Usually we pass a lot when we're down by a lot, we still were close in the game and continued to pass pass pass. We pass the ball a lot as if we have some GREAT options out there. I hope the next coach we get realizes that the run game is actually important to sustaining drives and helping your QB. Please give your thoughts

This does seem ridiculous that the Cowboys only gave RBs the ball 12 times. But they are awful running screens. Draw plays never work. I can see why a coach would lose trust in his running game. Still, you have your backup QB in there. Your top TE and second receiving threat is out, how can you throw 55 passes. And keep in mind the game was still not out of reach when Rush already had 40 pass attempts.

And here is the other weird thing about it. McCarthy just said last week the running back by committee thing was done and he anointed Rico Dowdle as his primary RB. Then game him 10 carries!

One other problem with the Dallas RBs is none of them are great receiving threats.

we are not going to win with running game. not even with Rush at QB. Dowdle averaged less than 3 YPC. so it puts you in 2nd and long and 3rd and long situation often.

We HAD to pass because the RB's were going nowhere!!! And the o-line was absolutely horrendous with run blocking!!!
First off not true. There were some decent gains.
2ndly you just keep bashing them. Anyone worth their salt in play calling knows if they aren't soft right off the bat you gotta soften them up the hard way.

Like i just said....you can't just abandon the run because you didn't get a 50 yarder...specially if you can't pass. You gotta keep pounding them and force them to get tired. You can't just give it up and let em t off.

not sayign we should abandon. just saying you can't win with this running game. and then you hands get tied when you are in 2nd and 8th.... meaning then you are forced to throw the ball most likely. and thus you end up passing way more than you like.

1 yard and a pile of dust doesn’t cut it so why bother.

I've never seen an NFL team run the ball this poorly. Honestly bizarre.
