What is our main struggle on defense?? Stopping the run, so to combat that we have multiple guys from the safety position at no more than 220+lbs to stop the run. These guys are then going up against guys way bigger than them in offensive line man then the occasional tight end etc blocking them.

Now I know Kearse and Wilson make plays, but I think we need to take a safety out and bring in another line backer. I'm sure this won't change, and the biggest issue is up front with the d line, but after they're blown off the ball, you go to these smaller guys and there's a big run!!

I hope things change in the playoffs if not we will be out again in the 1st, please give your thoughts

Dallas does not have that guy, IMO, to do what you are wanting. You have 5 receiving threats on an offense on any given play, plus a QB to keep track of.

The Kearse/Wilson are hybrid SS/Sam guys who are undersized a bit, and yes this means that your 7th in the box is undersized. If you change either out for a bigger Sam, then he better be a covering fool because the OC is going to scheme him to be covering either the TE or the back all game long.

With the league going to hyper athletic TE's that are more WR than blockers, I suspect Dallas will keep the Kearse\Wilson duo as long as they keep Dan's Quinn's defense.

The only way they could do what you are wanting is to get that Mike that stacks and shed, have the strength of linemen, and the speed of DB's. Then they could stop the run without having to remove either of them, IMO. Either that or Cox is going to have to cover like a db, and be stout against the run.

Kearse is 6'4" 215, that's undersized to you?

Eh, it’s either take your chances with Kearse/Wilson vs the run or Cox vs the run while getting torched by the TE!

This teams overall concept is to gain the lead then get after the QB. This team has been built around that concept and it's not going to change anytime soon. They expect teams to get pass happy after they've fallen behind. And that's why we play three safeties at once.

Not to mention, some teams are always pass happy. And tightends are becoming lighter and more athletic every minute.

Exactly which is why against everyone’s wishes they always select to receive because they want to score first.

No, good lad.
The secondary is in bad enough shape and needs all the help it can get.
I will pretend I never heard of your idea.

Parsons, but for some reason he is a DE now.

They're playing a Safety in place of the Nickel CB on a majority of those snaps. A 6-4, 220 pound Safety instead of a 6-0, 199 CB.

Get a clue.

Yes - when a pulling OG or OT makes it to him. IMO they need to ****can the new rule prohibiting defense players from going low on these OL that get involved in the play call.

I dont think we have enough lbs that can run. We could play Clark, LVE, and Parsons at the same time soon, but without LVE we expose ourselves in the passing game and getting to the edges. I like Barr on running downs but in space I think it's a lot to ask him.

That very well could happen. Will the idiots then realize what happened on this long journey?

I'd hate to miss the journey because I was so consumed with the destination. You're right, enjoy it while you can, as much as you can. Worrying and doom and gloom fixes absolutely nothing.

Conventional 4-3 : Sam LB 225-250lb plays against the sweep that is run to the strong side on run downs 1 and 2
Sam pulled for Nickel CB 190-220lb on third down who is a coverage guy.

Quinn has modified the role to a hybrid 3 down Sam/Nickel CB that can play both the run and the pass. Cool when you have the personnel.

Kearse being 215 is light for the SAM and actually a little heavy for the Nickel CB. Being able to swap with DWilson is a huge bonus.

Quinn's love for CB's is actually quite cool as well -- tall with long arms, so they have to be thrown over, and if they have the speed to keep up with WR's then it make that throw to drop it in deep, quite hard. I get why he likes the N Wright types...... I just don't see that Wright specifically has the lateral quickness to play outside CB like Quinn wants.

If Quinn stays another year, and Dallas gets the right LB and DT.........watch out with the D he has built. They could be dominant.
