Week 1: Cowboys at Giants SNF

I am not buying their renaissance. Dart has no weapons outside of Nabers, and while their front 7 has some pass rushers, I am not sold on them stopping the run w/o Dexter up front.

If they beat us, it is a bad sign for where Dallas is as a franchise. The Giants are a midling team at best, so we would be losing to an underdog when we have some clear roster advantages that should exploit their weaknesses.

I’m not saying they will have a renaissance but other than our offense there is nothing to prove we have got any better as a team, just like them. They were one 65 yard FG away and 25 seconds from beating us. So if you call them a middling team, what are we?

I predict we lose and not because of a bad game, going to be a good game on both sides of the ball but the giants with Dart leading them is going to want it more.

They have more to prove and as I said at the end of last year, I believe the NFCE is going to be a tough division this year and for years to come. The years of the cowboys cake walking to 12-5 were mainly because of a weak division.

Last year we were worse than a midling team. We had a top 5 worst defense in the history of the NFL. We were lucky to win as many games as we did.

This year? We have solid DTs. The best safety room we have had in many, many years. And a promising young DC to help spark a new defensive culture in Dallas.

Solid FA additions at CB (Durant) and a nice trade for a quality LB in Winters and a decent haul in the draft round out the changes.

I think we are a better team than the Giants with a huge advantage on offense, at QB, and special teams. Likely on D as well— but they will need to prove it
