I guess I'm just a homer. I see us winning by at least two TDs. I think we'll end up +3 in the turnover battle and win the game going away. But that's just me.

San Diego is at home, and we usually play terrible in our season openers. I think our offensive line isn't game ready yet, they just haven't played together long enough to gel. It is gonna take some more practices and game time. And with guys trying to learn our new defense, that too will take time.

I think we will have moments in the game, but I think San Diego will continue to use Tomlinson and break our hearts.

Since Gates is out though, I think it will be close.

San Diego 24 Dallas 20.

Excellent points....especially the opening game stuff.

Amazing isnt' it? Remember during the Landry years, how we almost NEVER lost an opener?

We won like 20 in a row didn't we?

I picked us to win but, honestly, it's the homer in me. This would be a great win for us against a really good team. If we win, it's a good indication of the strength of our team. If we lose, don't get too upset. We've got a lot of rookies getting playing time and will only get better as the season goes on.

Is Gates definitely out of this game, or can the league still reinstate him?

I don't believe that we are as week as the tv talking heads would have people believe. We're 2 seasons from being 10-6 and going into the playoffs with the #1 rated defense. Granted, we've had alot of turnover from then but it's been with intention of upgrading while providing depth. That has been done. We are on our way back.

Just the wr's. I don't follow any team but Dallas, and wanna know how our current secondary matches up against them.

I would love to start the season off right with a win but I don't see it happening. We've lost quite a few season openers the past few years and I belive Parcells isn't too hot for the first game of the season either.

Bolts - 24
Boys - 20

1990, a very young Dallas team after a horrible 1-15 season was expected to lose at SD opening day. We won on a QB sneak, or short run by Aikman. Can't quite remember right now. I think we have a legitimate chance to win this one. SD went from bad to playoff team (as many other teams do now days) so they can go to bad and we can go to good.

From reading their fan board and trying to read through natural homerism, I'd say their WR corps is a weakness. Their DB corps is also a weakness. I feel the WR vs. CB matchup works significantly in our favor both ways. We may be able to go man up a lot and devote Roy and Keith Davis toward stopping the run and putting Brees on his back. Our WRs are no better than their WRs, but our DBs are significantly better than their DBs.

Their WRs have better stats than talent, mostly due to the attention teams must give to Gates and LT, as well as the run-focused O scheme Schottenheimer runs. They have average size, speed, and hands. The area where they get credit is they will run all the routes. We can't look at a guy and say he's strictly the deep threat or strictly a possession guy.

Vincent Jackson has been injured and probably won't play. Kassim Osgood is a solid young player. Caldwell is coming off a knee blowout. It'll be interesting to see if they and Brees revert to 2003 form without Gates.

On the opposite side, Terry Glenn will have a 85+ yard day. They do not have anyone with the quickness to keep up with him. Crayton and Key will be good for another 40-50 each. Crayton might even do a little better as they do not have anything in the nickle D and we may play 3 WRs more than usual to attack that DB weakness.

Forgot to mention I'm thinking SD wins. I hoping for Dallas, but home teams on opening day usually win. I think it will be close though. San Diego had a lot of close games last year. They blew out the very bad teams, but most of their other games were in the single digits, win or lose.

I'll say 17-20, San Diego. I think we'll keep their offense in check, with field goals and our D defending a short field making up the difference.

This really depends. I'm going to San Diego, but I don't have tickets yet. Hoping I can pick some up before kickoff.

If I make it inside the stadium, I think we win 27-24 with a game winning kick by Jose Cortez.

If I can't find any tickets, I think we lose 31-17.

Y'all better be pulling for me! :D

I don't see us giving up alot of points, that's just me.

I see RW having a big game along with Dat and Spears.

I can see us blitzing like crazy - and that means turnovers for us. I think we will win strictly on turnovers alone.

I believe the turnovers will put us in good field position, and I think our receivers will get opened whenever they need a play.

I can see us runing a 3 WR set, forcing them to not have all of their run defenders in the game. Meanwhile; I think we will be able to run from this formation, successfully.

All in all, I say we win 24-16. I think they get alot of field goals in this game.
