The Cowboys will need to pay close attention to Dak Prescott’s throwing hand after he hit it on Zack Martin’s helmet on a pass attempt in the third quarter. This happened just one play after there was a 15-minute break in the action following the Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson having to be carted off the field.

As for Prescott, he flexed his hand repeatedly for the next two plays. Tom Brady on the broadcast noted that a QB often won’t know the full extent of hitting a hand on a helmet until after the game.

I have not re-watched the play when the injury occurred but I believe Prescott may have hurt his middle finger. There is some irony there given how the team played if it was that specific finger.

It was in fact the middle finger. Dak showed it to Cee Dee Lamb following the game for a second opinion.
