What about the illegal shift?

This is all for media to have something to talk about, and for the lions to be mad about. The refs making bad calls will be the reason the cowboys win the Super Bowl, so our haters will say… just watch.

Anyways, you notice none of the media outlets or anybody on twitter (no surprise there) talk about the penalty that added extra yardage to that 2 point conversion play? It wasn’t just illegal touching (giggity), there was also a call for illegal shift, effectively removing the resulting conversion.

As I understand it, no matter if 70 or 68 reported, or one did and didn’t report or if both didn’t report (hypothetically), number 70 lined up in the tackle position and because of where 68 was positioned, the play would have been reversed anyway due to said illegal shift.

Media greed I suppose why no one covers this? Because it angers people which generates more views?

Yes, I made this point in another thread that there were two flags. The illegal touching, and the illegal formation. Two refs threw flags so both refs understood 70 to be eligible and 68 ineligible. This is being overlooked just like the ridiculous tripping call.

68 was at the end of the line and if he was ineligible, then that is illegal. 70 was covered by 2 players, so if he was eligible that was also an illegal formation.

Also 58 was ineligible but he line up like he was eligible then shifted to the end of the line in an ineligible position. The initial position he took was legal as long as 70 was ineligible, but I didn't think OL can shift like that once they get set. It looked to me like he set for a second then moved. I may be wrong about this but that shift was part of the deception too.

Ummm, an illegal shift is about motioning from your original position and not re-setting for a second before the snap. How was this an illegal shift? Are you confusing this with illegal formation? If 68 was the one the refs said reported, then it wasn't an illegal formation. It certainly wasn't an illegal shift. What do you mean?
