I rate Ware, Patrick Willis, and Revis above him, but he's a play maker for sure.

Can't be. I've been told repeatedly on this very forum that Polumalu is way too overrated and is only noticed because of his hair.

It's like comparing apples and oranges. Revis is an elite talent no doubt. I love Ware, but he honestly hasn't made many game changing plays as of late. Willis is the best ILB in the game right now, and we all saw how the Pittsburgh defense deflated once Polamalu got hurt. He makes their engine go.

Very good list. I'd go Willis, Ware, Polamalu. I'd probably go Ed Reed over Revis though.

Looking at it critically, it's not that impressive of a play, just well-timed by Polamalu and a risky call by the defense that ended up being a good call.

There are 8 defenders up against 6 blockers there. It's not that hard to jump over when nobody's available to block you.

He is the only player in the league that would even attempt something like that, firstly. Secondly, they calculated that if he dove .1 seconds later, that would have been offside. Those are insane instincts. Trust me, its an impressive play. Plus he wasn't even supposed to come on the blitz.

I thought that sort of thing was illegal? I remember a Dallas vs. New England game years (decades? pretty sure Michael Downs was on the team at the time) ago when the Cowboys called a lot of safety blitzes which involved the dbs getting a running start and timing the snap count so they didn't have to stop at the line; we got tons of pressure, but got burned badly towards the end. IIRC that was banned the following year.

Other than Ware, when was the last time a Cowboy made a play like that? Dude can play, nuts out. Love to have him here.

The timing is a little different, but it reminds me a lot of this play:

You are always good for a laugh or two. Ware is the best olb in the game. Let's keep it right there. Polamalu has won so many games its not even funny. I remember the Bmore playoff game right off the top of my head. Anybody comparing Ware to him is out of their minds and is an obvious homer but what else would I expect here I guess. But yea

If Ware would have done it and timed it .2 seconds later, he would still have been called offsides, NY would still get a fresh set of downs instead of punting, and they score two plays later.

Not that I'm bitter about that.

He's a dang special player. I don't know where you rate him, what he should be rated, or any of that but he's absolutely up there near the very top of the list.

He's a game changer, for sure.
